About the Author
David Eugene Nelson, Jr. joined the Navy at 17 years old in 1993 as an undesignated seaman recruit (E-1) from Baltimore, Maryland. This is the best purchase I have made in a long time. I have never owned a home, primarily because I knew absolutely nothing about the process and it just seemed too overwhelming. This book answers all my questions in a very clear, concise way and lays out the entire process, step by step. The author gives great examples and offers useful advice.. even in areas I hadnt thought to consider. Not only do I know feel ready to become a homeowner...I feel like I have a distinct advantage! I would recommend this book to any veteran, even if you have used your VA loan previously.
I am a disabled Veteran that has lived outside the America for more than 26 years.I came home through employment with my family with full intentions on buying a house with not a-lot to put down on a first payment.It was a struggle to say the lease from the beginning because as someone that left the U.S as a kid coming back almost 3 decades to buy a home... Snakes in the housing industry knew I lacked the knowledge.If I had THIS BOOK...I would have approached everything different (for example) I herd about a job 4 states away from my current location with a chance to make 2/ 1/2 more money than I do now. I didn't apply because I already have a VA Loan and I didn't want to go into complete debt or have my family be put in the streets on my aspirations for a better life. WHO KNEW you could actually use your VA loan more than once at the same time? Except for the people that knew you didn't know. Case in Point. This is a very inspirational book that shows to the importance of knowing how you entitlements works. We have bought a house using the VA Loan and was definitely mislead on the perks of the VA Loan.
